This is the most important article I have ever written. I also think that this is the single most important issue of our generation. It also needs to be the highest priority for us as parents.
I am not a deeply religious man, but sometimes God does prompt me.

Panopticon.

The Panopticon is a type of institutional building designed by English philosopher and social theorist Jeremy Bentham in the late eighteenth century. The concept of the design is to allow a watchman to observe (-opticon) all (pan-) inmates of an institution (from a central location) without them being able to tell whether or not they are being watched.
The design consists of a circular structure with an "inspection house" at its centre, from which the managers or staff of the institution are able to watch the inmates, who are stationed around the perimeter. Bentham conceived the basic plan as being equally applicable to hospitals, schools, sanatoriums, daycares, and asylums, but he devoted most of his efforts to developing a design for a Panopticon prison, and it is his prison which is most widely understood by the term.
Bentham himself described the Panopticon as "a new mode of obtaining power of mind over mind, in a quantity hitherto without example."[1] Elsewhere, he described the Panopticon prison as "a mill for grinding rogues honest"
No prisons were ever built like a panopticon... yet... but there is another aspect of this word...
Although the Panopticon prison design did not come to fruition during Bentham's time, it has been seen as an important development. It was invoked by Michel Foucault (in Discipline and Punish) as metaphor for modern "disciplinary" societies and their pervasive inclination to observe and normalise. For Foucault, Bentham’s Panopticon is a symbol for the modern disciplinary society. "On the whole, therefore, one can speak of the formation of a disciplinary society in this movement that stretches from the enclosed disciplines, a sort of social ‘quarantine’, to an indefinitely generalizable mechanism of ‘panopticism’."[31] The Panopticon is an ideal architectural figure of modern disciplinary power. The Panopticon creates a consciousness of permanent visibility as a form of power, where no bars, chains, and heavy locks are necessary for domination any more.
So in essence, its a prison without walls. A prison, where you will assume that you are being watched, whether true or not, and you will eventually police yourself because you assume they are watching. And if you are a rogue spirit, you will be "ground" honest.
So whats the point?
Well you may not be aware of what our generation has been building. And you may laugh and scoff and shrug this off as ridiculous. Except it is very real, and almost complete.

Google has developed software similar to what neuroscientists believe exist in the visual cortex of mammals, Yoshua Bengio, a professor at the University of Montreal tells MIT's Technology Review.

So now we have google building a brain, but why?

Raytheon says it has not sold the software - named Riot, or Rapid Information Overlay Technology - to any clients. So we are in a situation, where the government can see and hear EVERYTHING we say or do.
They can see us, but we cannot see them.
And it is all being monitored by ONE central system called RIOT
Just like the Panopticon.
We have built this virtual prison for ourselves. For our children actually.
They will grow up in this prison and will no nothing besides it.
And it will get worse, as the merging of machine and man progresses...
